Meet the Rising Stars- Part 1
The Global Students Entrepreneur Awards are a game-changer for young entrepreneurs who, through the GSEA, get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their nascent businesses on a global platform, unlike any other.
The applicants are students who, along with their academics, have endeavoured to start an innovative business to solve various problems plaguing our community. GSEA gives them not only the platform to present their ideas but also the right mentorship from industry stalwarts, who groom them and their pitches to perfection. The elusive title of the winner also comes along with international media coverage and exciting prizes!
As you read this, we move a minute closer to the third EO Gurgaon GSEA 2021 Grand Finale! But before we introduce you to this year's dazzling finalists, here's a quick recap of what transgressed in the semi-finals held on the 18 December 2021:
Over 315 applications came in from all over the country. They represented some of India's most prestigious universities, from IIT Delhi to IIM Calcutta and the Delhi University. Businesses solving problems faced in multiple industries like Agro-tech, Fin-tech, Ed-Tech, and fashion came to vie for the alluring title. But only 30 of the best ideas were selected to participate in the semi-finals.
Our panel of esteemed judges were pitched the businesses - after a nail-biting and highly engrossing round of questions and answers, the judges selected the 9 most innovative and capable businesses and their entrepreneurs as the finalists. And in no particular order, here they are:
Hobiz
Founder Pulkit Sureka seeks to reimagine the country's 'gifting cycle' by being the one-stop-shop gifting solution for people who seek customized and creative gifts for their loved ones. Hobiz connects small scale home-businesses with limited exposure to a wider audience, thereby enhancing their reach and profits whilst adding to ‘consumer convenience’.
SpurChat
The passionate problem solver and SpurChat founder Rohan Rajpal has found an easy and user-friendly solution to the various issues small businesses face when they wish to connect with their consumer base through Instagram. The one of a kind- Spurchat App enables vendors to connect directly with consumers and complete a hassle-free transaction. With all communication lines open and easily accessible at all points of time, vendors can offer their audience an enhanced consumer journey.
Narkha LLP
Founder and innovator M K Jai Supreeth envisions building a merchandising platform for content creators, influencers, YouTubers, Colleges and talented individual artists online to sell their products to eager consumers all over the country. Narkha LLP will also leverage the latest technologies like augmented reality to offer the consumers a wholesome and dynamic experience like never before.
Paathshaala
Founder Utkars Arora is all about creating ‘Passion-preneurs’ with his e-learning platform, Paathshaala. With unique skill-based courses in social media and other avenues, taught in layman language and an optimal mix of Hindi and English; Paathshaala, molds entrepreneurs out of dreamers and helps them monetize their ideas.
